2016 came with a big celebration between our friends in Quairading. Even though, I was told at my job interview in Greenwood, that I should definitely work on New Year's Eve, somehow I still had a night off. So, we headed to a pool party in Quairading where we were invited. For a pool party, it was sadly way too cold and windy, but that didn't ruin a good night. For a dessert, we prepared a cookie-cake, which is something very common in Estonia. Sadly, we didn't have legit Estonian cookies, but we found quite a good replacement from Woolworths. We actually ordered Estonian goods from Estralian Trading webpage on 17th of December, but it still hasn't arrived!!! Post in Australia during or near holidays is ridiculous! Luckily, there are similar things sold in here too, so we didn't miss out on a good cake :) In the cake, we hid an almond, because of a tradition in Estonia - the one who gets the nut, will be the luckiest next year. We made the woman who got the piece with a nut very happy.
Instead of going to see fireworks for New Year, we just had to lit some sparklers, since Quairading is very dry during the summer and it can be dangerous. Anyhow, I wasn't too sad about it, because I'm hoping to see skyshow during 26th of January which is Australian Day and celebrated very big in here.
Head uut aastat! Happy New Year!
Niiiiii ilus kook!
